HI, my name is Yi Ling, I am a UX designer with over ten years of experience in the customer-facing industry in hospitality, tourism and retail. It turned me into a considerate, empathic nature and detail-oriented person. I have a good ability to understand and engage with people, which helps me get insight into their goals and needs. Also, I can easily collaborate with other departments and team members with my communication skills.
Learning new things and solving customer problems brings me great satisfaction. I did a pandemic-inspired re-assessment of my life and found that UX design allows me to use digital tools to help people to achieve their goals widely.
To keep myself dynamic learning, I spend my free time volunteering at Democracy Lab, a platform where people can connect with tech projects with talented people. I sharpen my UX skills and have a chance to work with different designers and departments. I'm proud to be a UX designer who optimised their website.
I am highly motivated and a self-starter. I am using my free time to self-taught some basic coding knowledge to upgrade my skill set. I believe that continuous learning can bring different perspectives on design.
